Description: This presentation will provide an overview of the clinical characteristics and treatment approaches for the 4 different drug-induced movement disorders (DIMDs): tardive dyskinesia (TD), drug-induced parkinsonism(DIP), acute dystonia, and akathisia.
Speaker: Melanie Venturino, PharmD, Rph -Melanie is a Clinical Practice Liaison with Neurocrine Biosciences. In her current role she provides education and scientific support to long-term care HCPs and staff on Tardive Dyskinesia and other Drug-induced Movement Disorders. Melanie is a Pharmacist by training with over 10 years of experience in both community and long-term care pharmacy with a focus on geriatrics, immunizations, and rare disease. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy in Pittsburgh, PA.
