The HIV Test and Treat Webinar is a three-hour comprehensive training program, accredited for CE, aimed to educate pharmacists and pharmacy technicians about PEP and PrEP in order for them to offer these services utilizing the Board of Pharmacy protocols.

VPhA introduced legislation in 2021 to allow pharmacists to initiate treatment for PEP and PrEP. Prior to issuing a prescription to initiate treatment with, dispensing, or administering controlled substances for post-exposure prophylaxis under this protocol, the pharmacist shall be knowledgeable of the manufacturer’s instructions for use and shall have completed a comprehensive training program related to the prescribing and dispensing of HIV prevention medications, including related trauma-informed care. This program fulfills the requirement to meet the Virginia Board of Pharmacy Training. Participants must complete all 3 Hours of CE in order for training to be considered complete.
