Summary:

Adverse drug events (ADE) are a significant burden on patients and they threaten the sustainability of the US health system. Pharmacogenomics (PGx) is an informed approach to pharmacotherapy that ahs been proven to reduce ADEs while optimizing the safety and efficacy of medications. However, individuals that self identify as minorities are routinely underrepresented in PGx studies and implementation efforts. Interestingly, healthcare professional education have shown promise as an approach to promote equity with PGx. Therefore, we will provide a PGx Ce Seminar for VA Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technicians.

Learning Objectives:

Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician:

  1. Understand the history and principles of pharmacogenomics (PGx)
