Leading Change through Motivational Interviewing – Home Study

Overview

This CE will provide the audience with the principles of motivational interviewing and how to utilize these skills into practice. In addition, the audience will learn the microskills (OARS) of motivational interviewing and apply these concepts to scenarios.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss how to utilize motivational interviewing principles when communicating with a patient and/or caregiver
  • Review how the micro-skills, OARS, can be utilized during a patient encounter to help lead change
  • Articulate the relationship between pharmacy performance measures and pharmacy practice advancement
  • Apply the concepts of motivational interviewing to patient care scenarios
