Rx Care PAC

The VPhA Rx Care PAC is a nonpartisan organization within VPhA that provides an opportunity for our membership to participate in Virginia’s political process. Democrat or Republican, it doesn’t matter. The VPhA Rx Care PAC supports candidates who share VPhA’s values on healthcare and the impact pharmacy makes to improve the quality of life for our patients. Contributions to political campaigns are based on a number of factors, including how closely a candidate’s views impact the profession of pharmacy and the district he or she represents.

The VPhA Rx Care PAC is supported fully through voluntary contributions from our membership.

What can you do?

As pharmacists, our voices matter in shaping the policies that impact our patients and our profession. One of the most effective ways to strengthen our advocacy efforts is by building relationships with our elected officials before we ask for their support on key legislation.

We encourage you to attend local political fundraisers and community events as these are excellent opportunities to connect with legislators and share the positive impact pharmacists are making in their districts. Take a moment to reach out to your representatives with good news from your practice or community pharmacy or the number of patients you have vaccinated this fall. Highlight patient success stories, innovative services, or collaborative health initiatives that demonstrate the value pharmacists bring to healthcare.

By building trust and sharing success stories now, we lay the groundwork for stronger support when it’s time to advance pharmacy-friendly legislation. Please keep VPhA up to date on what events you attend and send us an email updating us on your efforts info@virginiapharmacists.org.
